Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman received the New York State Conservative Party\u2019s nomination for governor during a visit to Stony Point on Saturday, marking another major boost in his bid to become New York\u2019s next governor.<\/p>\n
The nomination comes days after Blakeman secured the state Republican Party\u2019s endorsement at its convention in Nassau. Blakeman says he plans to cut taxes, create jobs and represent all New Yorkers in ways he argues incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul has not.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a party that\u2019s very much involved in American values, cutting taxes and cutting regulations,\u201d Blakeman said.<\/p>\n
Blakeman acknowledged the race will be a difficult battle but said he is ready to fight for voters across the state, including those in the Hudson Valley.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will cut your energy costs in half when I become governor. We\u2019ll create jobs, economic prosperity so young people don\u2019t have to move out of state to get a job and our businesses will stay here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
