STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 This week, Staten Island could consistently see temperatures in the 40s, but not before one more chance of snow, according to AccuWeather<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sunday will see temperatures creep into the low 40s, with the sun peeking through the clouds sporadically. However, snow could be in the forecast Sunday night into Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will drop overnight, and a snow advisory is in effect between 9 p.m. Sunday and 5 a.m. Monday, according to AccuWeather\u2019s forecast.<\/p>\n

The snow might not last for long, however, as Monday is set for a high of 40 degrees and a low of 35. <\/p>\n

Tuesday could see the start of things thawing out, with a mix of clouds and sunshine bringing a high of 50, AccuWeather predicts.<\/p>\n

Wednesday will bring some sporadic rain and a high of 45 degrees, which should help shrink down those leftover snow banks. Thursday will see the sun return with a high of 48 and a low of 37.<\/p>\n

Friday and Saturday will feature periods of rain throughout both days, with high temperatures hovering in the mid-40s. <\/p>\n

Sunday will be sunny, according to AccuWeather, but colder temperatures could start returning. While a high of 40 degrees is predicted, Sunday night into Monday could drop down to 25 degrees. <\/p>\n

According to Matt Benz, a senior meteorologist at AccuWeather, the storm from Sunday night into Monday<\/a> is part of a possible west-to-east storm could head toward the southern East Coast, but could hook back upward toward the New York area.<\/p>\n

While forecasters don\u2019t expect this to be a heavy snowstorm due to warmer conditions, possible accumulation is still unknown.<\/p>\n

This weather is seemingly part of a wider pattern of a slower transition to spring weather<\/a>. <\/p>\n
