RIVERDALE, NY \u2013 The Manhattan Jaspers Men’s Lacrosse team (1-2) took down the Seahawks of Wagner College (0-3) by a score of 10-5 inside Gaelic Park on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Jaspers and Seahawks alike opened the contest recognizing the late-Siena Men’s Lacrosse head coach Liam Gleason, who tragically passed away in December, by joining the rest of the NCAA in donning “LG” pins on their sweatshirts, followed by a moment of silence on site.
\n\tManhattan put together a pair of goals to open the game, rather quickly, within the first three minutes of the game, with Sean Shelko<\/a> and Jack Miller<\/a> finding the back of the net. Shelko fed it to Miller after the first goal’s faceoff win.
\n\tAs time was winding down in the first quarter, it was Tyler Mosca<\/a> who recorded the second-chance goal after Connor Engel<\/a> had missed wide, with just two seconds remaining.
\n\tThe Seahawks responded with two quick goals of their own to open the second stanza, before Wagner’s penalty led to a Mosca power-play goal.
\n\tWith the Seahawks threatening later in the stanza, Connor White<\/a> added some breathing room off a Wagner turnover to head into the locker room up two.
\n\tOut of the locker room, the Jaspers came out firing with the lone three goals in the quarter provided by Thomas White<\/a>, Connor Engel<\/a>, and Sean Shelko<\/a>, again. All coming in a span of three and three-quarters minutes.
\n\tAfter the Seahawks cut the Jaspers’ lead in half, Connor Engel<\/a> picked up the loose change nearly seven minutes later to find the back of the net on a second-chance attempt in the lower right corner of the net.
\n\tIn response, Wagner took advantage of Manhattan’s offside penalty committed by Thomas Shoniker<\/a> to find the back of the net on the power play.
\n\tTo officially put the game out of reach, Engel had to score his third goal of the game and ultimately win his first game of the 2026 campaign.

\n\tJunior attack Connor Engel<\/a> paced the Jaspers with three goals on five shots, with four on target, while handling four ground-balls in the effort.
\n\tRedshirt junior attack Sean Shelko<\/a> led the team in points with five off two goals and three assists, while logging 13 shots, 11 of which came on target, with three ground balls picked up, and caused one turnover.
\n\tJunior attack Tyler Mosca<\/a> added two goals to his ledger, on seven shots, with two on target, with one ground ball scooped.
\n\tRedshirt sophomore midfielder Jack Miller<\/a> also logged one goal on two shots, with one coming on goal.
\n\tSophomore midfielder Thomas White<\/a> posted one goal on four shots. Three of those came on goal while picking up three ground balls.
\n\tRedshirt junior attack Connor White<\/a> added one goal, with two assists, on four shots, three of those on net, while scooping three ground balls, and causing a team high two turnovers.
\n\tRedshirt sophomore goalie Ryan Beller<\/a> posted 13 saves in the effort to post his first collegiate victory in 60 full minutes.
\n\tThe Jaspers paced the shots category by +5, 39-34. Manhattan’s shots-on-goal total reigned supreme, having posted 25, compared to 18.
\n\tManhattan was 18-for-20 on clears in the effort, while tallying 39 ground-balls, compared to 19. Finally, the Jaspers won the faceoff battle, taking 12 to Wagner’s 5.
