Zanes\u2019s connection to Springsteen dates back to 1984, when he was a teenager performing with his band The Del Fuegos at Greensboro, North Carolina\u2019s Rhinoceros Club.<\/a> Springsteen, who was riding high with his biggest album \u201cBorn in the U.S.A.,\u201d walked into the group\u2019s small dressing room and joined The Del Fuegos onstage that night.<\/p>\n While Zanes would encounter Springsteen at various points throughout his life, he always viewed him as \u201cthe guy who made Nebraska.\u201d Four decades after the album\u2019s release, Zanes sat with Springsteen for hours discussing how the stark, intimate record was created and what it meant to release such an \u201cimperfect, unfinished, and unexpected recording.\u201d<\/p>\n Those conversations formed the foundation of Zanes\u2019s book about the recording and Springsteen\u2019s life during that period. Director Judd Apatow<\/a> praised the work, saying, \u201cThis book, more than any other, reveals the hidden corners of Bruce Springsteen\u2019s creative world.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cEntering Nebraska\u201d show features celebrated musicians Kate Fenner, David Mansfield, and Teddy Thompson. According to promotional materials, the performance explores \u201clife falling apart, of art\u2019s redemptive power, and of the lasting place of Bruce Springsteen in American life and culture,\u201d punctuated by songs from the Nebraska album.<\/p>\n The show is described as \u201cthe book come-to-life\u201d and captures Springsteen\u2019s \u201ctumultuous but inspired early 1980\u2019s experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n The performance will take place at 3 p.m. at Hamilton Park House Concerts, located in the historic Hamilton Park area of New Brighton.
