Following our previous visit to\u00a0Ankrom Moisan Architects<\/a>, we are moving our\u00a0Meet Your Next Employer series<\/a>\u00a0to New York this week to explore the work of\u00a0COOKFOX<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With studios in New York City and Minneapolis, the firm has built a portfolio that spans all major scales and typologies. Earlier this month, the firm was awarded a Firm Award at the 2025 AIA New York State Honor Awards, while last month the firm was among the winners<\/a> at the 2026 AIA New York Design Awards. The firm also recently spoke with Archinect<\/a> on their on-the-ground experience of chaos in Minneapolis caused by a surge in ICE activity.<\/p>\n

Designed in collaboration with Gensler, Google\u2019s brand new New York City headquarters sits inside St. John\u2019s Terminal at Hudson Square. The renovation of the two-block-long former rail terminus yields a total of 1.3 million square feet of new offices. Another nine stories were added above the existing structure. The building houses 3,000 employees of the tech giant, who said that its design is responsive to a research-driven office strategy and supports a new workplace model that\u2019s meant to foster greater collaboration, creativity, and growth.\u00a0<\/p>\n

300 Lafayette Street is a new office building in Manhattan occupying a previously underdeveloped site at the intersection of Lafayette and Houston Streets. Designed in reference to the SoHo-Cast Iron Historic District, the project interprets the area\u2019s historic cast-iron architecture through large glass facades, articulated detailing, and biomimetic patterns. The building incorporates balconies and planted terraces developed with MKM Landscape Architecture, forming a visible green facade intended to increase daylight access and provide outdoor space for occupants.<\/p>\n

Also known as the Bank of America Tower, is a 55-story, One Bryant Park is a 2.2-million-square-foot office building located in Midtown Manhattan. Completed as one of the first commercial skyscrapers to achieve LEED Platinum certification, the scheme was designed to emphasize daylight, air quality, and environmental performance. The tower features a transparent lobby connecting to Bryant Park, a high-performance glass facade, and massing that maximizes daylight and views. Sustainability systems include rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, under-floor air distribution, thermal ice storage, and an onsite cogeneration plant supplying much of the building\u2019s energy.<\/p>\n

Located beside the High Line and oriented toward views of the Hudson River, 512 West 22nd Street is designed with reference to local industrial buildings and the High Line\u2019s character, incorporating terracotta, zinc, granite, and large operable windows. The building includes adaptable office floors, filtered air systems, and tenant event space. More than 15,000 square feet of landscaped terraces with native plantings are integrated on multiple levels, providing outdoor circulation areas and direct connections between workplace interiors and surrounding green space.<\/p>\n
