STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Costco is tossing out paper order forms in favor of a digital system that can places orders with a few taps of a finger. <\/p>\n

A new feature on the warehouse chain\u2019s website and mobile app will allow customers to place orders \u2014 including custom instructions \u2014 for their scrumptious cakes and tasty deli trays. <\/p>\n

This is a swift turn away from the paper forms customers would need to fill out in person at their local Costco store. <\/p>\n

According to Fox Business<\/a>, Costco CEO Ron Vachris said the following: \u201cVery excited about what we have coming in the app\u2026 So many of the things that we\u2019ve heard from our members that could be a little bit clunky are now moving to a digital state, and we\u2019re seeing great adoption right out of the chute.”<\/p>\n

When this adaption of their ordering system will activate is still a mystery. <\/p>\n

Furthermore, it\u2019s not clear if that same 24-hour to 48-hour order notice will still be in effect with the digital ordering. <\/p>\n

Whether or not food court orders could be transitioned to a similar online ordering system is also in question. Traditionally, customers need to go to the food court to order everything other than a pizza in advance. <\/p>\n

Pizza orders can typically be called in to a customer\u2019s local Costco for pickup. <\/p>\n

The paper order forms have been somewhat of a point of contention for Costco shoppers who don\u2019t necessarily live around the corner from a location.
