Kennedy High School, told The Post he now has to look over his shoulder because only one of up to four suspects in his teen\u2019s murder has been busted.<\/p>\n<p>Christopher Redding, 16, was a football standout at John F. Georgett Roberts\/ NY Post<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now, we fear for our safety,\u201d Corley said. \u201cIt\u2019s just too much. We can\u2019t even grieve in peace.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re still out there, and nothing is really being done,\u201d the dad claimed of the suspects still in the wind.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything is a lie. Mayor Mamdani saying that the police is doing a good job. They\u2019re not doing a good job. It\u2019s disgusting,\u201d Corey raged. \u201cThe things my family has to endure right now and go through. Everybody is just using my son for a meal ticket, a move-up for their goodness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven the mayor,\u201d he said. \u201cHow can you make a statement when you haven\u2019t even came and speak to the victims? How can you hold a conference and you haven\u2019t even spoken to us?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Asked if Mamdani or his team has reached out at all to the family, Corley responded \u201cHell, no.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The mayor, quizzed by reporters the day after the slaying about the recent string of shootings in the borough, called the crimes \u201cheartbreaking and horrific.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thankful for the work of the NYPD not only in responding to them but also in the actions they are taking to ensure that we work to prevent them in the future,\u201d Mamdani said.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Zohran Mamdani has failed to protect New Yorkers, the slain teen\u2019s dad said. Gabriella Bass for NY Post<\/p>\n<p>Sources said four reputed gangbangers opened fire on a group of teens outside a McDonald\u2019s in The Bronx. Kyle Mazza<\/p>\n<p>Redding was with two young friends \u2014 a 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/11\/us-news\/teen-killed-two-others-wounded-in-massive-nyc-street-brawl\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">outside the McDonald\u2019s at Broadway and West 238th Street<\/a> in Kingsbridge shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday when a group of gun-toting thugs approached.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects, who law-enforcement sources described as possible gangbangers, asked Redding and his friends if they were members of the Eight Block, a subset of the Bloods, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>Redding and his friends are not affiliated with any gangs, law-enforcement sources said \u2014 and told the suspects that.<\/p>\n<p>A dispute ensued, and bullets rang out, with Redding struck in the back and mortally wounded, while his younger friends were each hit in the right leg, police and sources said.<\/p>\n<p>The NYPD is asking for help to track down these suspects in the case.  NYPD<\/p>\n<p>Police have caught only one of the up to four suspects in last week\u2019s slaying.
