1.\u00a0Cooperation with ICE: A breakdown of New York counties that work with federal immigration agencies<\/a><\/p>\n

Gov. Kathy Hochul recently said she would\u00a0ban\u00a0all\u00a0partnerships that\u00a0allow local law\u00a0enforcement to work with federal immigration agents.\u00a0Madison County is one of eight counties in the state cooperating with the federal government, but only for people who have committed a crime in New York.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0New York plans to conserve pond-dwelling brook trout in Adirondacks<\/a><\/p>\n

New York has many state symbols like the rose, the bluebird and the sugar maple. The state\u2019s Department of Environmental Conservation wants to protect New York\u2019s fish, the brook trout, specifically, focusing on brook trout living in ponds.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Former smoker credits NYS Quitline with helping her make life-saving decision<\/a><\/p>\n

For more than 25 years, the New York State Quitline has been helping smokers kick their addiction to nicotine. Those people include Ashley Darville, 37, who started smoking at 16, despite suffering from several serious health conditions.<\/p>\n

Investigators working on the disappearance of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother are consulting with Walmart management to develop leads because a backpack the suspect was wearing is sold exclusively at the stores, the Pima County, Arizona, sheriff said Monday.<\/p>\n

Robert Duvall, the veteran actor who starred in masterpieces such as “The Godfather” and “Network,” died Sunday, his wife announced Monday.
