The Academy Award winning actor, who was known for his ability to \u201cclick into character\u201d almost immediately, produced and directed a number of his movies, including the 1973 film \u201cBadge 373,\u201d which was filmed in Coney Island and other parts of Brooklyn, and \u201cWe Own The Night,\u201d which was both set and filmed in Brighton Beach.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to some of his more famous movies, such as \u201cThe Godfather,\u201d in which he played a consigliere with a scene filmed at the iconic St. George Hotel in Brooklyn Heights, and \u201cApocalypse Now,\u201d Duvall first appeared as the reclusive Boo Radley in \u201cTo Kill A Mockingbird\u201d with Gregory Peck and child actress Mary Badham.<\/p>\n<p>Duvall wrote, directed, financed and starred in the 1997 movie, \u201cThe Apostle,\u201d achieving a longtime passion in the exploration of evangelism in America. He played a troubled and wayward itinerant preacher who flees from a crime of passion he committed.
