Season 2 is not expected to happen, and Taylor-Joy is perfectly content with that decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know what, I think it\u2019s so beautiful as it is,\u201d Taylor-Joy said. \u201cI feel like it\u2019s currently in a situation where, like, if we added anything to it, it might take away from it. So I think that story is, like, very nicely wrapped up with a bow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Based on Walter Tevis\u2019 1983 novel, The Queen\u2019s Gambit stars Taylor-Joy as Beth Harmon, an orphan and chess prodigy. \u201cSet during the Cold War era, The Queen\u2019s Gambit follows Beth from the age of eight to twenty-two as she struggles with addiction in a quest to become the greatest chess player in the world,\u201d reads the official logline.<\/p>\n<p>The Queen\u2019s Gambit also stars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/bill-camp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Bill Camp<\/a>, Moses Ingram, Isla Johnston, Christiane Seidel, Rebecca Root, Chloe Pirrie, Akemnji Ndifornyen, Marielle Heller, Harry Melling, Patrick Kennedy, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Marcin Doroci\u0144ski.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.comingsoon.net\/tag\/scott-frank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Scott Frank<\/a> wrote, directed, and executive produced The Queen\u2019s Gambit. William Horberg served as an executive producer, with Allan Scott attached as a co-writer and executive producer.<\/p>\n<p>All seven episodes of The Queen\u2019s Gambit were released in October 2020.
