An Upstate New York man has been arrested after a domestic dispute, according to New York State Police.<\/p>\n
Kohen Laware, 26, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., was charged Saturday, Feb. 14, with criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and aggravated family offense.<\/p>\n
NYS Police said they were notified of a domestic dispute around 4:14 p.m. at a residence in the Clinton County town of Peru. Troopers said Laware and a victim were involved in a verbal argument as Laware became \u201cincreasingly irate.\u201d<\/p>\n
Laware allegedly damaged the door handle of the victim\u2019s vehicle during the incident. The victim was able to leave the scene in the vehicle, police said.<\/p>\n
Troopers said they later located Laware, who tried to flee on foot when they attempted to place him under arrest. Police said they issued multiple verbal commands for him to stop, warning him that he would be tased if he did not comply.<\/p>\n
A trooper deployed a Taser, police said, and Laware was taken into custody without further incident.<\/p>\n
Laware was transported to the State Police station in Plattsburgh for processing. He was arraigned in the Town of Peru Court and released under the supervision of probation.<\/p>\n
Additional details about the victim and their relationship to Laware were not disclosed.<\/p>\n
