McMahon is partnering with the NYPD, Assemblyman Charles Fall and Calvary Chapel next Saturday, Feb. 28 for another no-questions-asked, \u201cCash for Guns\u201d event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"6ULADQ3KQVFTHORG4RCHSKTDH4\">The event, part of the New York City Gun Buyback Program, will take place at Calvary Chapel, Located at 30 Maple Parkway in Mariners Harbor, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"VTPIVRXQPNCPLEWBSMJPYSGIAQ\">\u201cWhile there is no silver bullet to eradicating gun violence, we know that the presence of even one firearm in the home can be the difference between a fatal accident, a successful suicide attempt or a domestic violence incident escalating out of control,\u201d McMahon said. <\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DA Gun Buyback Feb. 2026\" class=\"article__image-content\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/EWPS6YDVTZE4XBNS2BC52HSFHY.jpeg\"  \/>The next gun buyback event will take place next Saturday, Feb. 28 at Calvary Chapel, Located at 30 Maple Parkway in Mariners Harbor, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.(Courtesy of the Richmond County District Attorney&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AOAEB4AWKRDZNDLCCE5WC3FIMQ\">Individuals who turn in operable handguns and assault rifles will not be questioned and will receive $500 bank cards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"D5N3OY6TE5CKHPXX5UE54QM2P4\">The program also offers a $200 bank card for so-called ghost guns and 3-D printed guns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"L4IMSSCHEZEHDOJBC3264HVNE4\">Anyone turning over a rifle or shotgun will receive a $75 bank card, while those handing in air guns, non-operational handguns and imitation pistols will receive a $25 bank card.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"HSQ4A5XT7NFJZECCDE23UNDDAE\">While attendees can turn in any number of guns, there is a limit of three guns for payment and two ghost guns per participant.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"low\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"DA Gun Buyback Event Feb. 2026\" class=\"article__image-content\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IROOFTWFNFCUXNQI6GTDORIG6Q.jpeg\"  \/>The next gun buyback event will take place next Saturday, Feb. 28 at Calvary Chapel, Located at 30 Maple Parkway in Mariners Harbor, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.(Courtesy of the Richmond County District Attorney&#8217;s Office)<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZXHIQT2JWBEY3OX7OB63ILWYSM\">Starting in 2016, the program has helped to take nearly 1,000 illegal guns off Staten Island streets with the most recent event in October netting approximately 50 firearms, including 25 revolvers, 17 semi-automatic pistols, four rifles, one assault weapon and three BB guns, a spokesman for the DA\u2019s office confirmed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Staten Island District Attorney Michael E.
