{"id":13676,"date":"2025-10-23T15:47:19","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T15:47:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/13676\/"},"modified":"2025-10-23T15:47:19","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T15:47:19","slug":"e-payment-platform-stripe-expands-to-286k-sf-at-28-liberty-street-commercial-observer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/13676\/","title":{"rendered":"E-Payment Platform Stripe Expands to 286K SF at 28 Liberty Street \u2013 Commercial Observer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/commercialobserver.com\/company\/stripe\/\" title=\"Stripe\" class=\"company-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stripe<\/a>, a global fintech firm known for its online payment services, has expanded its footprint at 28 Liberty Street to a total of 285,997 square feet across eight floors, Commercial Observer has learned.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The company had moved into the 45th through 48th floors of the <a href=\"https:\/\/commercialobserver.com\/company\/fosun-international\/\" title=\"Fosun International\" class=\"company-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fosun International<\/a>-owned office building in 2024, subleasing 146,500 square feet from American International Group, <a href=\"https:\/\/commercialobserver.com\/2024\/06\/stripe-signs-147k-sf-sublease-at-28-liberty-street\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CO reported at the time<\/a>. The sublease is still in effect.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/commercialobserver.com\/2025\/10\/stk-bringing-new-steakhouse-meatpacking-district\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">STK Bringing New Steakhouse to Meatpacking District<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now the firm has signed a separate direct lease for 139,497 square feet at 28 Liberty Street and will occupy a total of eight floors within the building, a source with knowledge of\u00a0 the lease told CO. The length of the lease was not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Asking rent for the floors Stripe will occupy ranges between $75 and $80 per square foot, according to a source familiar with the building.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stripe had relocated from 199 Water Street to 28 Liberty Street last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Peter Riguardi, John Wheeler, Mitchell Konsker and Michael Berman from <a href=\"https:\/\/commercialobserver.com\/company\/jll\/\" title=\"JLL\" class=\"company-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">JLL<\/a> represented the building\u2019s owner. JLL declined to comment. <a href=\"https:\/\/commercialobserver.com\/company\/cbre\/\" title=\"CBRE\" class=\"company-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CBRE<\/a>\u2019s Jeff Fischer and Sacha Zarba represented Stripe. CBRE did not immediately respond to a request for comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStripe\u2019s commitment to 28 Liberty underscores the strong appeal of this landmark property and highlights the continued momentum of Lower Manhattan as a destination for the tech industry,\u201d\u00a0Wei Bo\u0131, Fosun global partner and chairman of the firm\u2019s North America real estate arm Four Trees Capital Management, said in a statement to CO. \u201c28 Liberty is setting the pace for a new wave of tech tenants downtown, offering world class companies like Stripe a uniquely elevated office experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stripe\u2019s direct lease seems to be part of a growing trend among AI firms and other tech companies that are taking large swaths of office space.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Lower Manhattan alone there have been several significant office leases among these companies, including Scale AI <a href=\"https:\/\/commercialobserver.com\/2025\/10\/scale-ai-sublease-wunderkind-one-world-trade-center\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">taking 80,000 square feet<\/a> at One World Trade Center and<a href=\"https:\/\/commercialobserver.com\/2025\/08\/cloudflare-lease-1-world-trade-center\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> IT services firm <\/a>Cloudflare taking 34,000 square feet in the same building.
