While today\u2019s AI can write essays, solve puzzles, and even operate robots, Thompson notes, \u201cIt needs just a bit more. I\u2019d like to see adaptive learning or continual learning, so we could teach it in real time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe points to rapid progress: Harvard\u2019s rigorous Turing Test found GPT-4.5 could fool people better than real humans. The combination of advanced AI and robotics is already leading to machines capable of assembling complex objects and handling daily tasks\u2014thresholds previously thought to be years away.<\/p>\n

\tThe Next Steps\u2014and a Faster Future<\/p>\n

\n\tWith government mandates requiring results in months\u2014not years\u2014the Genesis Mission is set to deliver its first integrated data lake by August 2026. Existing supercomputers and cloud infrastructure are already in place to power this grand experiment. \u201cIt\u2019s a very exciting time,\u201d Dr. Thompson enthuses. \u201cIt\u2019s not a stretch to say we\u2019ll see new building materials, new ways of optimizing the human body\u2014even solving diseases, mental and physical.\u201d<\/p>\n
