\u201cTo those who continue to commit these acts of violence, I want you to know this, \u201d Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark said Monday. \u201cWe know how to find you quickly as is evidenced by this case!!\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Clark, nine people, including a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds, were indicted for their alleged roles in two mass shootings on Aug. 23 and Sept. 1 that left three people dead and seven others wounded. Another man was indicted for a related shooting on Sept. 2 that claimed the life of a 22-year-old, whose brother was shot the day before.<\/p>\n
Prosecutors say the mass shooting that took place on Aug. 23 turned a basketball tournament at Haffen Park in Baychester into chaos, in which two people were killed, while three others who were shot sustained injuries.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe defendants allegedly opened fire to avenage a prior incident, and others in the park fired back,\u201d Clark said. \u201cA total of 57 shots were fired at that basketball tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of those who was shot in the head that day was 17-year old Anthonaya Campbell, who died of her injuries on Sept. 8 and was laid to rest over the weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cHer funeral was this past Saturday,\u201d said Clark. \u201cThe mourners were dressed beautifully to celebrate her life and the events that she will never see like her prom, her graduation.”<\/p>\n
Clark says they linked some of the firearms to 13 other shootings, and she is urging law enforcement agencies to take action.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe time is now for a concerted and precise effort by the NYPD and our federal partners to stem the flow of weapons into our community,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
