Or in a prewar building near the Bronx Zoo with renovated rooms and brand-new fixtures?<\/p>\n<p>Three affordable housing lotteries that may help you reach these dreams are closing in late February or early March. In the Bronx, a lottery will place applicants on a waiting list for apartments in Belmont and Mount Eden. Applicants may apply even with no income; the maximum eligible household income is $210,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In Brooklyn, two lotteries offer apartments available to lease in Gowanus and East Williamsburg. Eligible applicants must earn between $32,160 and $226,800.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what to know before the deadlines.<\/p>\n<p>THE BRONX<\/p>\n<p>BELMONT, MT. Eden in the Bronx.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The buildings were rehabilitated through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/hpd\/news\/018-25\/hpd-relaunch-neighborhood-pillars-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Neighborhood Pillars<\/a> city program, which supports the preservation of affordable housing. Renovations kept the apartments\u2019 prewar layouts but included new kitchens, bathrooms, fixtures and flooring.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Belmont buildings are near the Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden. They\u2019re close to the B, D, 4 and 1 trains. This building is being constructed through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/hpd\/services-and-information\/inclusionary-housing.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Inclusionary Housing Program<\/a>, which is designed to promote and preserve affordable housing where zoning has been changed to encourage new development.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One- to four-bedroom apartments are available with modern designs and furnishings, including a patio or balcony, dishwasher, energy-efficient appliances, high-end kitchen appliances, countertops and finishes and an intercom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The building is smoke-free and includes elevator access and an accessible entrance and security cameras. It\u2019s within steps of the G train and near the J, M, Z and L trains. Rent includes hot water and heat but not electricity (including electric stove). This affordable housing development is being constructed through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nyc.gov\/site\/hpd\/services-and-information\/inclusionary-housing.page\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Inclusionary Housing Program<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/housingconnect.nyc.gov\/PublicWeb\/details\/7376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Maison Bond Apartments<\/a> offer expansive layouts, triple-glazed floor-to-ceiling windows and refined interior details.
