POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist\u00a0University women’s basketball team (10-17 overall, 7-10 MAAC)\u00a0continues conference play against Manhattan, as the Red Foxes host\u00a0the Jaspers\u00a0on Thursday, Feb. 19. Tip-off from McCann Arena\u00a0is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.<\/p>\n
Before the game, Marist will honor its four senior captains: Jackie Piddock<\/a>, Ciara Croker<\/a>, Lexie Tarul<\/a>, and Morgan Tompkins<\/a>. \tThe Marist University women’s basketball team dropped a road contest at Rider, 56-43, on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Gymnasium. \tManhattan, 7-18 on the season, is led by Heather Vulin in her 10th year as head coach. \tThursday’s contest against Manhattan will mark Marist’s 69th against the Jaspers. \tMarist is shooting 77.0% (291-for-378) from the free throw line this season, which ranks second in the MAAC. \tMarist is shooting 33.9% (183-for-540) from 3-point range this season, which ranks third in the MAAC behind conference leaders Fairfield and Quinnipiac. \tThe Red Foxes return to action on Thursday, Feb. 26 at Saint Peter’s.

\n\tFreshman forward\u00a0Justine Henry<\/a>\u00a0recorded a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double to lead the Red Foxes, who shot just 16-for-49 (32.7%) from the field and 1-for-15 (6.7%) from beyond the arc as a team.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Jaspers are 7-9 in MAAC play and currently sit in eighth place.
\n\tBrianna Davis leads the Jaspers on offense, averaging 14.8 points per game.
\n\tManhattan was picked to finish 7th in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u00a0The Red Foxes lead the all-time series 43-25, most recently winning 62-57 on Jan. 3.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Red Foxes have three players shooting over 77.0% from the charity stripe (min. 10 attempts) in Jackie Piddock<\/a>, Justine Henry<\/a>, and Lexie Tarul<\/a>.
\n\tPiddock is shooting 87.1% (54-for-62) from the line.
\n\tHenry is shooting 79.0% (83-for-105) from the line.
\n\tTarul is shooting 77.3% (58-for-75) from the line.
\n\tThe Red Foxes shot a perfect 100% (12-for-12) in the loss to Miami (OH) on Nov. 29 and in the win over Siena (13-for-13) on Jan. 22.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Red Foxes have four players shooting over 35.0% from beyond the arc (min. 25 attempts) in Chloe Escanillas<\/a>, Danielle Williamsen<\/a>, Jackie Piddock<\/a>, and Lexie Tarul<\/a>.
\n\tEscanillas is shooting 43.6% (24-for-55) on 3-pointers.
\n\tWilliamsen is shooting 37.9% (33-for-87) on 3-pointers.
\n\tPiddock is shooting 35.5% (27-for-76) on 3-pointers.
\n\tTarul is shooting 35.1% (54-for-154) on 3-pointers.<\/p>\n
