On average, bus speeds had increased about 5% beyond gains already achieved through dedicated bus lanes, with some corridors experiencing improvements of up to 30%. Collision rates had dropped by approximately 20%, while emissions were estimated to have declined between 5% and 10% due to smoother traffic flow. Officials also noted a 40% reduction in vehicles blocking bus stops along ACE routes.<\/p>\n Data at the time suggested the program was also effective as a deterrent. Only about 10% of motorists<\/a> who received violations were issued multiple tickets, indicating most drivers changed their behavior after an initial penalty.<\/p>\n The ACE program had launched in June 2024 with limited coverage before rapidly expanding citywide across all five boroughs.
