A demented Queens man who shoved his 64-year-old mom out of a third-floor window shed crocodile tears in court and even blamed her for the sick crime \u2014 but couldn\u2019t lie his way out of prison.<\/p>\n

George Tsintzelis, 37, was hit with the max sentence of 25 years Wednesday for the shocking 2024 assault, despite having the gall to tell a judge that it was his mom who was mentally ill. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe did that to herself,\u201d the shameless son said in Queens Supreme Court. \u201cShe has mental health issues. It\u2019s not fair that I lose my freedom because of somebody that has mental health issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not fair, judge,\u201d Tsintzelis whined to Supreme Court Justice Peter Vallone. \u201cThis is very sick. The DA is painting a picture that I\u2019m not. The DA is a liar. My previous crimes have nothing to do with this case. That\u2019s unfair.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Queens jury found the career criminal guilty of attempted murder in December<\/a> for the heinous attack on his own mother after she refused to give him drug money on Nov. 15, 2024. <\/p>\n

Paraskevi Tsintzelis miraculously survived the three-story fall in Astoria to testify against her troubled son \u2014 but couldn\u2019t bring herself to face him in court for his sentencing on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe deserved what he got,\u201d the thug\u2019s sister, Argyro, told The Post. \u201cI don\u2019t want to see him on the streets again. I feel safer. He shouldn\u2019t be in society. He threw his life in the garbage.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t care,\u201d she added. \u201cIt\u2019s all about him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prosecutors said George Tsintzelis, who has had a string of prior arrests, was a bad seed who had repeatedly terrorized his mother for years<\/a>, assaulting her and stealing from her to feed his drug habit.<\/p>\n

On the day he tried to kill her, prosecutors said he held a knife to her throat before dragging her to the window and pushing her out \u2014 then tried to cover his tracks and claimed he wasn\u2019t even there.<\/p>\n

\u201cArguably the worst part of this is he left her there to die on the ground,\u201d Assistant District Attorney Christina Mavrikis said in court. \u201cHe called 911 and he pretended to have no idea what just happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mavrikis said even after his arrest the convicted son tried to manipulate his battered mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe called her from Rikers, violating the order of protection to try to emotionally manipulate her into not coming to court and testifying here to tell everybody what had happened to her,\u201d the prosecutor said. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe told me that she was haunted by the memory of that evening,\u201d she said. \u201cShe cannot sleep in her own bed anymore, and she has not done so since she returned from the hospital after the incident. She told me, \u2018as a mother I tried. I love my son. I didn\u2019t want this. I tried to help him, support him.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018I tried to get him into programs, I let him live with me,’\u201d Mavrikis said. \u201c\u2018He needs help, but I\u2019m also scared of what he\u2019ll do to me if he gets out.\u2019 She knows if he were to get out he is a great risk of injuring her and even killing her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Argyro Tsintzelis said her mom had a doctor\u2019s appointment on the day her brother was being sentenced, and still needs more surgery, including on her shattered ankle.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the eighth surgery but it might not be the last,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

In court, even the judge got tired of her son\u2019s rambling, cutting his phony claims short.<\/p>\n

\u201cOk, you\u2019re done,\u201d Valllone said. \u201cYou were asking for mercy today, but what I give you today is justice, justice that you deserve. The sentence today is for what you did to your mom. I\u2019m sentencing you to the maximum allowed \u2014 25 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe always provided a safe haven for you,\u201d the judge added. \u201cHow did you repay her? A life of abuse, culminating with you pushing her out of a third-story window. You attempted to kill her and you failed. Now this poor woman, as you just heard, couldn\u2019t even come to court today.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement, Queens DA Melinda Katz called the crime \u201can unthinkable actd of violence.<\/p>\n
