Police are searching for an armed trio that they say stole approximately $118,000 in jewelry during a home invasion robbery in East New York.<\/p>\n
A 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman answered a knock at their door just before 9:30 p.m. Friday near Vandalia and Fountain avenues in response to a woman claiming to represent a cleaning agency.<\/p>\n
Instead, the pair was met by two men and a woman, all armed, who forced their way inside their home and to the bedroom, authorities say.<\/p>\n
The trio took $118,000 worth of jewelry, along with wallets, a purse and credit cards, bringing the total value to around $122,000.<\/p>\n
Police say they ran from the home, traveling southbound on Fountain Avenue toward Seaview Avenue.<\/p>\n
The woman was last seen wearing a black jacket, a white T-shirt, black pants, a black hat and black sneakers. One man was observed in a dark-colored jacket and hat, while the other wore a multicolored blue sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and black sneakers, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
