\n Feb 18 \u2013 Ramon Rodriguez is
\n charged with the murder of
\n Milton Grant around 175
\n Dyckman Street in Upper
\n Manhattan on June 21,
\n 2021.\u00a0 Now in February
\n 2026 he is on trial, with a
\n second trial set for March.<\/p>\n
\u00a0On June 20,
\n 2023 Ramon Rodriguez was
\n presented in U.S. District
\n Court for the Southern
\n District of New York
\n Magistrates Court. Inner City
\n Press was in Mag Court, the
\n only media there. <\/p>\n
\u00a0 The
\n indictment cited another
\n “Victim-1.” <\/p>\n
Rodriguez was
\n detained on consent. <\/p>\n
Jump cut to July
\n 30, 2024: Rodriguez and two
\n co-defendants were brought
\n into the courtroom of Judge
\n Jennifer H. Rearden and seated
\n in the jury box, occupied
\n until minutes before by jurors
\n in her daycare fraud trial.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 Judge
\n Rearden noted that it has been
\n a year. The prosecutors said
\n plea discussion have progress
\n with two of the defendants; he
\n noted that two have been
\n charged before Judge Lewis J.
\n Liman with witness tampering,
\n in USA v. Rodriguez,
\n 1:24-cr-417 (Liman)<\/p>\n
The case on trial
\n in February is now USA v.
\n Rivera, et al., 1:23-cr-203
\n (Rakoff) <\/p>\n
On February 10,
\n 2026, a cooperating witness
\n Mr. Diaz was on the stand,
\n describing preparations for
\n the robbery, with masks and
\n two cars, Acura and Honda. <\/p>\n
On February 12, a
\n MDC officer testified about
\n sharpened metal weapons found
\n in the cell – the cross
\n brought up that they could
\n have been hidden there a long
\n time, the searcher disagreed
\n on re-direct – and then a
\n doctor from the OCME, Terra
\n Cederroth.<\/p>\n
On February 12
\n Juror 10 was replaced by
\n Alternate 1.<\/p>\n
On February 17,
\n Judge Rakoff denied a defense
\n motion, then inquired into
\n whether the defense complied
\n with Rule 16(b)(1)(c)(1). <\/p>\n
On February 18,
\n the closings. The AUSA quoted
\n the defendant about his
\n favorite gun (with a
\n silencer). The defense quoted
\n a cooperating witness about
\n burglaries being his favorite.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the case
\n before Judge
\n Liman,
\n Rodriguez
\n decided to go
\n pro se. On
\n July 31, 2025
\n his letter was
\n docketed
\n complaining of
\n lack of access
\n to discovery,
\n and saying he
\n didn’t know
\n the victim was
\n a cooperating
\n witness. On
\n September 30,
\n 2025, that
\n trial was
\n pushed back to
\n March 30,
\n 2026.<\/p>\n
