STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Staten Island college and career expo is being planned for Wednesday, March 11, at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.<\/p>\n
District 31, in partnership with Assemblyman Charles Fall, will host the event, which organizers are calling one of the largest college and career fairs ever held in the borough.<\/p>\n
The event will bring together more than 150 representatives from colleges, universities, major employers, trade programs, military branches, and government agencies. The expo is designed to ensure every Staten Island high school student has access to the same opportunities and resources as they prepare for life after graduation.<\/p>\n
The event directly supports District 31\u2019s goal of ensuring every graduate leaves high school enrolled in college, employed, or enlisted in the military.<\/p>\n
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the expo will be exclusively for high school students. Schools from across Staten Island will bus students to and from the event, with all public, charter, and Catholic high schools invited to participate.<\/p>\n
Students will engage directly with college and employer representatives while experiencing a high-energy atmosphere featuring a live DJ, multiple photo booths, free haircuts, virtual reality career exploration, and interactive demonstrations.<\/p>\n
From 2 to 3:30 p.m., the expo will open to families, job seekers, and members of the general public.<\/p>\n
Notable participants include representatives from the College of Staten Island, Wagner College, St. John\u2019s University, Seton Hall University, the Fashion Institute of Technology, Long Island University, and various CUNY and SUNY institutions.
