Queen Camilla carried out a scheduled Clarence House engagement with Dame Anna Wintour on Thursday morning as the Royal Family faced fresh scrutiny following the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.<\/p>\n

Buckingham Palace said the Queen, in her role as Patron of The Queen\u2019s Reading Room, received Dame Anna at Clarence House.<\/p>\n

Dame Anna, 76, is the Global Chief Content Officer and Artistic Director at Cond\u00e9 Nast.<\/p>\n

The Clarence House meeting took place on the first day of London Fashion Week. The fashion icon met Camilla to discuss British fashion and the work of the Queen\u2019s Reading Room.<\/p>\n

The Queen\u2019s Reading Room is one of Camilla\u2019s flagship initiatives, with the Palace routinely listing audiences and meetings connected to the project alongside her wider programme.<\/p>\n

The combination of a high-profile cultural engagement with a leading figure in fashion and publishing, followed by a public appearance in Westminster, meant Camilla\u2019s diary activity unfolded in parallel with a major police development involving the King\u2019s brother.<\/p>\n

Thames Valley Police (TVP) arrested Mr Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office and later released him under investigation.<\/p>\n

A TVP spokesman told GB News: “On Thursday (19\/2) we arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.<\/p>\n

“The arrested man has now been released under investigation. We can also confirm that our searches in Norfolk have now concluded.”<\/p>\n

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has always denied wrongdoing.<\/p>\n

It is understood that King Charles and Buckingham Palace were not informed of the arrest in advance.<\/p>\n

The Queen’s Clarence House audience was followed by a separate public engagement for Camilla later in the day.<\/p>\n

She attended a lunchtime concert at Sinfonia Smith Square Hall in Westminster on Thursday afternoon, where she watched performances and met musicians and supporters of the organisation.<\/p>\n

The Queen’s visit went ahead as planned while the King issued a statement about his brother\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n

He said: “I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office.<\/p>\n

“What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.<\/p>\n

“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation.<\/p>\n

“Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all. Charles R.”<\/p>\n

GB News understands the Prince and Princess of Wales support His Majesty\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n

Queen Camilla did not respond when asked about Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest as she left today’s venue.<\/p>\n
