BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 19, 2026)–The Morgan State acrobatics and tumbling team will head on the road for the first time this season when it takes on Iona University this Saturday, Feb. 21 at 12 p.m. at Hynes Athletics Center in New Rochelle, N.Y.

\nLast week, the Lady Bears (0-1) were dealt a loss in their season- and home-opener, falling to La Salle University with an overall meet score of 236.750-220.990.
\n\u00a0
\nAlthough the ladies had a strong performance in the compulsory event of the match, finishing with a high score of 35.650, this still wasn’t enough to earn the victory.
\n\u00a0
\nWhile preparing tirelessly for a strong comeback in this weekend’s matchup, the Lady Bears are trying to solidify a crucial early season win that would define their season.
\n\u00a0
\nIona (1-0) enters this weekend’s competition coming off a 262.660-224.210 season-opening win at home over Long Island last Saturday.
\n\u00a0
\nMorgan State head coach Agina Simpkins stated during last week’s match, “Everybody’s score counts toward the win. We had a lot of substitutions, so we really had to come together,” said Simpkins, emphasizing the importance of both teamwork and resilience in high-pressure moments.

\nThe Lady Bears are ready to prove this Saturday that their hard work will translate into victory, determined to turn last week’s loss into momentum and make a statement for the rest of the season.
