Just across from Prospect Park, the first-floor unit has an eat-in kitchen and three closets. <\/p>\n

There is some vintage charm in this Prospect Lefferts Gardens studio, with a sunken living room, a butter yellow bath, and wood floors. It is a first-floor unit in 125 Ocean Avenue, a six-story co-op building across from Prospect Park.<\/p>\n

Plans were filed for the building in 1939. By 1940 the building, constructed by Leon and Murray Kellner<\/a>, was pitched as a \u201cfine addition to the Flatbush area.\u201d Units had all modern improvements according to a Brooklyn Eagle article<\/a>, with large foyers, an \u201cabundance\u201d of closet space, and \u201cdropped\u201d living rooms.<\/p>\n

While a studio, this unit does have the promised large foyer. It has an original niche with shelves and an arched opening to the sunken living area. The iron railings are still in pace on either side of the single step down.<\/p>\n

The living space benefits from two exposures, without park views. A creative layout could make the most of the space.<\/p>\n

There is a separate kitchen with all white finishes, including the tile floor, walls, cabinets, and a vintage sink. The windowed room has room for a small table for dining.<\/p>\n

The full bath has retained much of its 1939 style with a yellow console sink, a built-in hamper, a medicine cabinet, and yellow floor and wall tile with black accents. The yellow tub is still in place with a glimpse of some original hardware. Outside of the bathroom are the three closets in the unit.<\/p>\n
