New York is no different, as\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/news\/these-nyc-restaurants-are-closed-today-in-solidarity-with-the-ice-strike-013026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">several businesses across the city participated in last month&#8217;s nationwide protest<\/a>, pausing service and raising funds for\u00a0immigration reform and community building. In an added show of solidarity, several of Brooklyn&#8217;s best bars and restaurants are continuing the work with a fundraiser all their own.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0Thursday, February 26th, RAD Restaurants and Gertie will be hosting\u00a0<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/resy.com\/cities\/new-york-ny\/venues\/gertie\/events\/ice-belongs-in-cups-2026-02-26?seats=2&amp;date=2026-02-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ICE Belongs in Cups<\/a>, a walk-around tasting to benefit mutual aid work in Minnesota. Several Brooklyn restaurants will be providing cocktails and bites for the\u00a0cause, including the Bearded Lady, gertrude&#8217;s, Pies n Thighs, Ursula and Whoopsie Daisy. All ticket sales will go toward a mutual aid operation spearheaded by Walker Bachman, a former Gertie employee. Made by hospitality workers, for hospitality workers, Bachman and his community in Minneapolis will be coordinating care boxes, buying, packing and delivering\u00a0food, toiletries, and other essential goods to hospitality workers who no longer feel safe in their neighborhood.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tickets are $100 per person and $25 for children. For those who cannot attend but still want to help, guests can purchase a donation ticket for $50.
