For the first time in nearly a decade, blizzard warnings have been issued for New York City as a historic storm targets the Northeast. Whiteout conditions are expected for the I-95 corridor Sunday and Monday, with the Big Apple, Boston and Philadelphia expected to see 12-18 inches of snow. NEW YORK \u2013 A Blizzard<\/a> Warning has been issued for New York City<\/a> starting on Sunday as a monster nor’easter is set to dump more than a foot of snow<\/a> on the largest city in the U.S.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Snow is expected to start on Sunday afternoon and the forecasts<\/a> have increased yet again, now making the brewing storm one of the biggest snowstorm threats in years for major Northeast cities like Boston<\/a>, Philadelphia <\/a>and New York City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A Blizzard Warning goes into effect from 6 a.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. on Monday for New York City, Long Island and the New Jersey<\/a> shore for a very high-impact event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

WHAT MAKES A BLIZZARD DIFFERENT FROM AN ORDINARY SNOWSTORM?<\/a><\/p>\n

It’s the first Blizzard Warning for New York City in nearly a decade, since 2017.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Big Apple is forecast to get between 12-18 inches of snow from Sunday into Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The snow and wind combination will make for extremely dangerous travel<\/a> conditions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
