NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A dangerous nor\u2019easter<\/a> is set to slam the Tri-State on Sunday and Monday, dropping around a foot of snow in New York City and over a foot on Long Island and the Jersey Shore.<\/p>\n

Snow will pick up in intensity Sunday evening, according to AccuWeather. Blizzard conditions are then expected Sunday night as temps drop below freezing. During the overnight hours, snowfall rates could reach 1-2 inches per hour, and wind gusts could top 50-60 mph.<\/p>\n

The storm is on track to move out Monday after dropping about a foot of snow on NYC and the surrounding suburbs. Brooklyn and Queens are likely to see the highest amounts in the city. Long Island, the Jersey Shore and coastal Connecticut may get 12-18 inches of snow or more.<\/p>\n

\u2022 New York<\/a> and New Jersey<\/a> have declared states of emergency.<\/p>\n
