\n A potentially historic winter storm is set to dump up to 2 feet of snow on parts of the Northeast.\n <\/p>\n
\n This could be the most snow some places have had from a single snowstorm in years. The storm could also go into the record books as one of the 10-biggest snowstorms for some locations across the region if the high end potential snow totals verify.\n <\/p>\n
\n Here\u2019s a look at how some of the forecast snowfall totals stack up historically in select cities:\n <\/p>\n
\n New York City (16 to 24 inches forecast)\n <\/p>\n
\n This will likely be the snowiest storm since 2021, when 17.5 inches fell from January 31 to February 3.\n <\/p>\n
\n Only three storms on record have dropped at least 2 feet of snow on the Big Apple. The last one was its record snowstorm in January 2016, when 27.5 inches buried the city.\n <\/p>\n
\n Philadelphia (16 to 22 inches forecast)\n <\/p>\n
\n This will likely be the biggest snowstorm since January 2016, when 22.4 inches fell over two days.\n <\/p>\n
\n Only seven other storms have dumped over 20 inches on the city.\n <\/p>\n
\n Boston (12 to 24 inches forecast)\n <\/p>\n
