STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. \u2014 Con Edison is sending out texts to New York City customers warning of the impending blizzard that is predicted to dump over 20 inches of snow over the five boroughs. <\/p>\n
The text reads: \u201cConEd Alert: We\u2019re preparing for the snow storm in your area today & tomorrow. If you lose power, reply OUT to get restoration updates. Stay away from downed wires.\u201d <\/p>\n
Mayor Zohran Mamdani\u2019s office confirmed that Con Ed \u201cmobilized additional crews, has mutual aid on standby, and will be working 24\/7 to respond to any weather-related service issues\u201d in a written statement. <\/p>\n
Additional utility employees are being stationed in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan in order to \u201cmaintain service of our underground system.\u201d <\/p>\n
The Con Ed Outage Map, where residents can see where outages are occurring, can be found here: https:\/\/outagemap.coned.com\/external\/default.html<\/a>. <\/p>\n Con Ed services most of the five boroughs into some upstate regions of New York. <\/p>\n AccuWeather<\/a> Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski told the Advance\/SILive.com that the worst weather \u2014 the expected blizzard \u2014 will come later on Sunday<\/a> and into early Monday morning.<\/p>\n \u201cThe worst of it is going to be this evening and then really into Sunday night and Monday.
