NEW YORK (PIX11) \u2014 DoorDash will suspend operations in New York City during the peak of the snowstorm<\/a> that\u2019s expected to pummel the tri-state area.<\/p>\n

The delivery service announced that it will shut down operations roughly 30 minutes before the New York City travel ban<\/a> goes into effect at 9 p.m. on Sunday.<\/p>\n

DoorDash instituted its severe weather protocol as New York City could see snow bursts of 2 to 3 inches per hour<\/a> between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. on Monday, according to the Office of Emergency Management.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re suspending operations early to keep Dashers safe and off the streets before the travel ban takes effect. We\u2019re closely monitoring conditions and will resume as soon as it\u2019s safe to do so,\u201d a DoorDash spokesperson said in a statement.<\/p>\n

DoorDash said operations will be suspended until at least noon on Monday, depending on conditions around the city<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The delivery service previously suspended operations<\/a> during the January snowstorm that had New York City streets filled with snow for days.<\/p>\n
