Instead, the five stars will head to the Laurie Beechman Theatre and perform a live concert of all the show\u2019s songs on Instagram beginning at 5:30pm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mincemeatbway\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">You can watch it here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The zany, fact-based musical is written by actors Cumming, Hodgson, and Roberts, alongside Felix Hagan, all of who make up the UK theater troupe SpitLip and were Tony nominated for their work.<\/p>\n<p>Operation Mincemeat\u00a0began as a tiny (and tiny-budgeted) production at the London Fringe New Diorama Theatre in 2019. The show quickly gained a devoted following, spurring sold-out runs at venues including Southwark Playhouse and Riverside Studios. It finally premiered in the West End at the Fortune Theatre in 2023, where it won the Olivier and WhatsOnstage Awards for Best New Musical, alongside garnering 74 five-star reviews and counting.<\/p>\n<p>Malone won a Tony and an Olivier Award for his performance as Hester, singing the standout ballad \u201cDear Bill.\u201d Cumming plays Charles Cholmondeley, Hall plays Jean Leslie, Hodgson plays Ewen Montagu, and Roberts plays Johnny Bevan and Others.<\/p>\n<p>The show is described as follows: \u201cThe year is 1943 and we\u2019re losing the war. Luckily, we\u2019re about to gamble all our futures on a stolen corpse.\u00a0Singin\u2019 in the Rain\u00a0meets\u00a0Strangers on a Train, Noel Coward meets Noel Fielding,\u00a0Operation Mincemeat\u00a0is the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of the twisted secret mission that won us World War II.
