It\u2019s often difficult to relate to a fashion campaign, but H&M\u2019s most recent one \u2014 featuring Ice Spice, Paloma Elsesser, Lynn Yaeger, Jay Guapo, Jon Turturro, Kai Schreiber, Kareem Rahma, and other city dwellers sharing snippets of their New York and how it\u2019s shaped them \u2014 hit home. Literally.<\/p>\n

H&M\u2019s new campaign centers on New York and some of the characters that make it tick. \u201cYou get inspired every day by the unique characters you see out and about,\u201d Ice Spice says. \u201cNo doubt my style \u2014 and the way I express myself \u2014 has been shaped by the city.\u201d For Rahma, he\u2019s grown out of feeling like he didn\u2019t want to \u201cstand out,\u201d and for Elsesser, she\u2019s let go of any preconceptions about being a \u201ccertain size.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cast of characters really showcases the diversity of New York and the democratic vision that has always defined H&M,\u201d Jorgen Andersson, the brand\u2019s chief creative officer, wrote in an email to The Cut. \u201cI loved seeing how each of the cast members used fashion to showcase self-expression and individuality \u2014 something that really speaks to H&M\u2019s core.\u201d<\/p>\n
