Law enforcement advocates are demanding arrests after NYPD police officers were filmed being repeatedly pelted with snow as they walked through a massive, pre-planned snowball fight in Washington Square Park on Monday.<\/p>\n
Video uploaded to social media<\/a> at shows the officers being battered by snowballs outside the Washington Square Park Office and restrooms as dozens of parkgoers crowd around filming and jeering at the cops.<\/p>\n \u201cF\u2013king bitch,\u201d one man can be heard screaming at the cops, while another yelled: \u201cGet out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n The officers were responding to a 911 complaint of disorderly conduct inside the park around 4:13 p.m., according to an NYPD spokesman.<\/p>\n Two officers suffered facial injuries and were treated at Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital<\/a>, cops said.<\/p>\n The pelting occurred amid a pre-planned snowball fight<\/a> inside the West Village park following a blizzard that dumped nearly 20\u2033 of snow in Central Park Sunday into Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Detectives\u2019 Endowment Association is calling on Mayor Mamdani and District Attorney (Alvin) Bragg to ensure every individual responsible for this illegal behavior is prosecuted. No free pass. No get out of jail free card,\u201d DEA President Scott Munro stated<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Police Benevolent Association, which represents more than 50,000 active and retired NYPD police officers, posted a statement demanding the snow throwers be charged with assault.<\/p>\n
