Robert Miller<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encountered a construction worker at the bottom of the pit, 60 feet down,\u201d Russo said.<\/p>\n<p>First responders quickly realized the worker had no pulse and wasn\u2019t breathing, according to the chief.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey set up a highpoint anchor and lowered a stokes basket,\u201d Russo said. \u201cAnd about 5 to 10 minutes after that, they raised the victim up and immediately transferred him off to FDNY EMS, who provided further care.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The worker was taken to a local hospital, where he died, officials said.
