Tone matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A video went viral on Monday of NYPD officers being pelted with snowballs while being booed.<\/p>\n<p>Former New York Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo criticized current New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/andrewcuomo\/status\/2026106563744637346\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">saying he should denounce what happened.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is disgraceful,\u201d he wrote on X. \u201cBut with a mayor who has a history of calling the police &#8216;racist, evil, wicked and corrupt,&#8217; he set the tone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mamdani did issue a statement, saying that NYPD officers should be treated with respect.<\/p>\n<p>Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n<p>BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve seen the videos of kids throwing snowballs at NYPD officers in Washington Square Park,\u201d he wrote on X. \u201cOfficers, like all city workers, have been out in a historic blizzard, keeping New Yorkers safe and cars moving. Treat them with respect.
