Police arrested a man after responding to a reported domestic dispute at a Penn Yan hotel.<\/p>\n
Mitchell A. Pringle, 38, of Staten Island, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after officers said he violated an order of protection and prevented a victim from leaving a vehicle with two children inside.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to a 911 call around 1:33 a.m. Feb. 11 for an ongoing domestic incident. Police said the suspect left the area in a vehicle before officers arrived, while the victim remained on the phone with dispatchers and was not allowed to exit the vehicle.<\/p>\n
The vehicle was later located in Elmira. An investigation found the victim and two children were protected under an order of protection against Pringle, according to police.<\/p>\n
Pringle was charged with first- and second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child, petit larceny and second-degree harassment.<\/p>\n
Police also discovered Pringle had an outstanding warrant from Massachusetts after being indicted for cocaine trafficking.<\/p>\n
He was arraigned in Yates County CAP Court and held without bail due to two prior felony convictions. He is also being held as a fugitive from justice pending an extradition hearing.<\/p>\n
