{"id":144246,"date":"2026-02-24T22:34:31","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T22:34:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/144246\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T22:34:31","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T22:34:31","slug":"parma-police-shoot-man-in-brooklyn-ohio-bci-investigating","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/144246\/","title":{"rendered":"Parma Police shoot man in Brooklyn, Ohio BCI investigating"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">BROOKLYN, Ohio (WOIO) &#8211; A 29-year-old man was shot by Parma Police at Brookpark Road and Commerce Parkway in Brooklyn on Tuesday, according to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Brooklyn Police Department responded to a request for assistance with an officer-involved shooting from the Parma Police Department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Parma officers responded to the area for a welfare check on a suicidal male at around 12:49 PM.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said the male was likely armed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Parma officers found the male driving westbound on Brookpark Road near Hauserman Road. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police tried to pull the male over, but he did not stop until reaching Commerce Parkway. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said when the man stopped he reached into the backseat and exited the vehicle, approached officers, and was shot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He was taken to MetroHealth Hospital by EMS.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">No officers were injured in the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The man will not be identified until the family is notified. The intersection will be closed during the investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to investigate the officer-involved shooting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A 19 News crew is on the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WOIO.
