Several neighborhoods experienced more than 17 inches of snow after the blizzard on Monday.<\/p>\n
The New York City Emergency Management Department told News 12 community members can experience snow melt over the next few days that can lead to hazardous conditions.<\/p>\n
“It’s going to take a couple of days for us to get everything totally back to normal,” said Assistant Commissioner of External Affair, Ira Tannebaum. <\/p>\n
In Kingsbridge, neighbors were forced to get creative with how they navigated through the streets on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
One father carried a stroller through a path filled with slush and frozen ice. A scooter driver got stuck in the snow still left over on a sidewalk. <\/p>\n
“It is, still a little icy, so, like, you just got to, wobble like a penguin,” said one resident, Kevin Vergara. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Doris a street vendor outside of the Kingsbridge Armory spent more than five hours using her shovel to clear the sidewalk of the snow.<\/p>\n
“The city cleared one part but it’s not enough so it’s up to me to clean up the street,” she said. <\/p>\n
