Hundreds of protesters in Forest Hills once again joined millions across the nation last Saturday as they marched down Queens Boulevard to decry policies under the Trump administration.<\/p>\n
The march from MacDonald Park to Borough Hall was organized by a coalition of activists spearheaded by the groups Queens Says No Kings and Forest Hills Indivisible. It pushed back against a slew of federal actions, from budget cuts to mass deportation efforts.<\/p>\n
It comes months after a similar demonstration in June, which organizers say drew thousands of participants.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe 1st sentence of the U.S. Constitution states \u2018We the People\u2019 NOT We the King,\u201d City Councilmember Lynn Schulman (D-Forest Hills) said in an X post.<\/p>\n
\u201cExtremely inspiring to see so many neighbors and friends committed to our democracy,\u201d Assemblyman Andrew Hevesi (D-Forest Hills) said on X.<\/p>\n
U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Flushing) was among the other area elected officials in attendance.<\/p>\n
