Brookhaven Town Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro says Wednesday’s fresh coat of snow has left Brookhaven plows one day behind schedule with widening and clearing roads.<\/p>\n
News 12 asked Losquadro if plows have been able to get to all or at least most of the roads on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
“Yes. By the time we break off at 6 p.m. this evening, every road will have been plowed,” says Losquadro.<\/p>\n
Losquadro says crews had to replow roads on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
\t“Tomorrow will be a very important day for us to make sure we get as much pushback as we can and get roads treated,” he says.<\/p>\n
Town of Brookhaven residents have been calling News 12 nonstop over the last two days, frustrated with how long it’s taking to plow their streets.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, some roads were left completely untouched.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, News 12 went to two neighborhoods that reached out to the station.<\/p>\n
Residents who live on Days Avenue in Selden say a plow came for the first time on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n
“This morning, it was the same as all day yesterday. So, it was covered,” says resident Edson Parra. “We’re probably going to invest in some kind of snow plow ourselves at this point.”<\/p>\n
\tPeople who live on Williams Avenue in Holtsville say they took matters into their own hands.<\/p>\n
\t“Some neighbors took it upon themselves to call in a third party to plow our street because it was 5:45 p.m. and the town hadn’t shown up yet,” says resident Jennie Eckhaus-Katz. “We were stuck here.”<\/p>\n
Losquadro says there have been challenges for snow plows over the last few days.<\/p>\n
