The agreement highlights more safety protocols, higher pay, better health benefits and addresses staffing issues, according to the New York State Nurses Association.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After 41 days, nurses not only improved care, they set an example for the rest of the labor movement,&#8221; said NYSNA President Nancy Hagan.<\/p>\n<p>Union and hospital system reach agreement<\/p>\n<p>The nurses union and hospital system <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/newyork-presbyterian-nurses-strike-tentative-agreement\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reached the agreement<\/a> just after midnight Friday.<\/p>\n<p>It was the second tentative agreement with NewYork-Presbyterian. Nurses overwhelmingly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/nyc-nurses-strike-newyork-presbyterian-contract-deal\/\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">voted down a proposal<\/a>\u00a0the week before.
