(WECT) &#8211; The North Carolina Azalea Festival has officially announced this year\u2019s Queen Azalea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to festival organizers, film, television and stage actress Elaine Hendrix is the 2026 Queen Azalea.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Hendrix is known for her roles in various movies, television shows and stage productions such as \u201cThe Parent Trap,\u201d \u201cRomy and Michele\u2019s High School Reunion,\u201d \u201cFriends,\u201d \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d and \u201cHello, Dolly!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She is also an author, co-producer of an Off-Broadway show, and an award-winning advocate for animal rights, LGBTQ+ equality, women\u2019s rights and environmental justice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">As Queen, Hendrix will take part in festival events, including:<\/p>\n<p>Celebrity ReceptionAirlie Garden PartyBluewater After Garden Get DownQueen\u2019s Dance Party, ParadeAppearances at the Street Fair Performing Arts Stage<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She will officially be crowned Queen Azalea on Wednesday, April 8, at 3 p.m. at the Battleship North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 79th annual <a href=\"https:\/\/ncazaleafestival.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/ncazaleafestival.org\/\">Azalea Festival<\/a> is set to take place from April 8 through 12.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WECT.
