WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani had a meeting with President Donald Trump on Thursday in Washington, D.C., according to reports.<\/p>\n
The meeting with Trump was not on Mamdani\u2019s schedule, but a spokesperson confirmed to The New York Times<\/a> that the meeting would be happening.<\/p>\n Two people familiar with the matter said the meeting took place at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n The sources said it would be about building housing in New York City, the Times reports. Many of Mamdani\u2019s advisers flew into D.C. as well.<\/p>\n Right after Mamdani was elected mayor of New York City, he met with Trump last year and the two had a productive meeting<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe’ve just had a great meeting — a really good, very productive meeting,\u201d Trump said after the meeting. <\/p>\n \u201cWe have one thing in common: we want this city of ours that we love to do very well.\u201d<\/p>\n Mamdani said he appreciated the president and the conversation they had.<\/p>\n “I appreciated the time with the president,” Mamdani said. <\/p>\n “I appreciated the conversation. I look forward to working together to deliver that affordability for New Yorkers.”<\/p>\n
