The Boston Celtics used the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> own defensive scheme against them in their 148-111 blowout victory over the Nets at TD Garden on Friday (Feb. 27) night, leveraging the double and at times even triple coverage of players like Jaylen Brown and Nikola Vucevic to spread the love on the way to getting a half-dozen of their players in double figures (and all active players on the board).<\/p>\n

“I thought we just did a great job reading the game,” said Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla of how Boston managed to turn around from an awful offensive outing vs. the Denver Nuggets<\/a> in their last game to this historic offensive masterpiece.<\/p>\n

“They went to \u2013 they\u2019re good defensively and they have some different coverages, whether they\u2019re switching, whether they\u2019re blitzing, or whether they\u2019re just going to drop there,” he explained.<\/p>\n

“So I thought we just made the right reads throughout most of the entire game,” explained the Boston coach. “I thought tonight Vooch (Vucevic) looked really comfortable in his offensive reads and his offensive screening.”<\/p>\n

“And he unlocked a lot of stuff for us, and so he\u2019s got to keep getting better at those, just reading different matchups, making the right play.”<\/p>\n
