Shortly after that, Stony Brook would tack on two more goals from Caleb Yeung and Brian Bradley to make it 3-0 Seawolves with 7:26 to go in the opening quarter. The 3-0 advantage did not last as Manhattan scored its first of the day less than a minute later. The Seawolves would tally the final two goals of the opening quarter, capped off by a goal from Declan Mitchell fresh off a faceoff win.

Manhattan kept things close with two quick goals in the second quarter, making things a 5-3 game with 11:55 remaining in the first half. That would be as close as the Jaspers would get for the remainder of the game, as the Seawolves snatched back momentum with four consecutive goals to close the second quarter and give them a commanding 9-3 lead at the break.

Stony Brook picked up right where it left off in the third quarter with a goal from Justin Bonacci in the first minute. Building off the opening goal of the quarter, the Seawolves would put in the next four goals, expanding their lead to 14-3. Manhattan scored one goal in the third, sending the game into the fourth quarter with Stony Brook leading by 10.

Manhattan would score two late goals in the closing minutes, but it was far too little too late, as the Seawolves wrapped up the 15-6 on its home turf.

STATS AND NOTES

Collin Williamson led the Stony Brook offense with 4 points, scoring two goals and assisting on two.
Bonacci posted his second straight multi-goal performance with two goals in the win.
Brian Bradley notched the first two goals of his collegiate career today.
Kian McCoy rounded out the Seawolf multi-goal scorers with two goals.
Yeung, Donnellan, Mitchell, Jake Lewis, Michael Kloepfer, Jack Kalinowski, and Carson Boyle all scored a goal in today’s game.
Stony Brook outshot the Jaspers by a margin of 42-to-26.
With today’s win, the Seawolves improve to 13-7 all-time against Manhattan.
The Stony Brook defense caused nine turnovers.

UP NEXT
Stony Brook hits the road for an upstate matchup against Binghamton next Saturday, March 7.
