The New York Giants<\/a> are showing interest in Chicago Bears<\/a> linebacker Tremaine Edmunds as the NFL offseason heats up, reports ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano.<\/p>\n

In addition to Edmunds, the two insiders note that the Giants are likely to scour the market (trade or free agency) for “high-end” linebackers.<\/p>\n

One player who has strong trade value and a decent chance to be dealt is Bears linebacker\u00a0Tremaine Edmunds. The Titans, Raiders and Giants are among teams interested in high-end linebackers, and they like Edmunds, who’s only 27 despite eight years in the league. He was granted permission to\u00a0seek a trade\u00a0earlier this week.<\/p>\n

A first-round pick (No. 16 overall) by the Buffalo Bills in 2018, Edmunds has established himself as a versatile and productive off-ball linebacker. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2019 and 2020 during his time in Buffalo, where he overlapped with current Giants general manager Joe Schoen, who served as assistant GM there.<\/p>\n

Edmunds signed a four-year deal with the Bears in 2023 and has continued to deliver, amassing over 900 career tackles, 14 interceptions, and consistent contributions in coverage and run defense.<\/p>\n

With Edmunds under contract through 2026 but carrying a significant cap hit, Chicago appears open to moving him if the right offer emerges. For the Giants, adding a proven, still-young playmaker like Edmunds could bolster their front seven as they aim to build defensive continuity.<\/p>\n
