ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) \u2014 Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens rang the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange on Monday morning as Atlanta counts down to the World Cup.<\/p>\n
Kemp and Dickens led the Atlanta World Cup Host Committee in marking just over 100 days until the first 2026 FIFA World Cup match in Atlanta.<\/p>\n
The crowd broke out into chants of \u201cATL! ATL!\u201d after Kemp and Dickens rang the bell.<\/p>\n
Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp and Lt. Gov. Burt Jones \u2013 who is running to succeed Kemp as governor \u2013 were also in attendance.<\/p>\n
\u201cMarty and I were honored to ring the bell this morning alongside Mayor Dickens at the New York Stock Exchange. 100 days to go!\u201d Kemp wrote on social media.<\/a><\/p>\n It comes as the World Cup trophy tour begins in North America.
