A New York City<\/a> duo was busted for allegedly stealing a fleet of luxury jet skis and a new boat during a string of brazen, overnight heists at Long Island homes. <\/p>\n

Willis Estrella Genao, 28, and Carlos Torres Rodriguez, 27, are accused of targeting Suffolk County\u2019s quiet waterfront neighborhoods in the dead of night from October 2025 through January of this year, according to District Attorney Ray Tierney.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese defendants, both of whom live in the city, allegedly drove out to Suffolk County to prey
on our residents by brazenly stealing property right from victims\u2019 driveways and backyards,\u201d said Tierney.<\/p>\n

\"AWillis Estrella Genao, 28, of Brooklyn, and Carlos Torres Rodriguez, 27, of Howard Beach, made off with four high-powered jet skis, a boat, and even trailers and spare parts through a string of burglaries on Long Island. Yamaha<\/p>\n

The men would allegedly cruise into the well-off communities looking for any kind of watercraft <\/a>left sitting on the property \u2014 before hitching entire trailers to their vehicles and towing them away in one shot in the middle of the night, according to officials.<\/p>\n

It was a brazen crime spree that left waking homeowners stunned to find empty driveways where their prized summer toys had been parked just hours earlier, the DA said.<\/p>\n

The alleged spree stretched across several South Shore communities, with multiple jet skis and an entire boat stolen from homes in Lindenhurst, Oakdale, West Islip, Bay Shore and East Islip.<\/p>\n

The pair allegedly first struck on Oct. 30, swiping a luxury jet ski from a Lindenhurst driveway.<\/p>\n

Just under a month later, the duo came back and allegedly grabbed two jet skis and a trailer in a single hit from an Oakdale backyard.<\/p>\n

In the following weeks after, they lifted an entire boat straight out of a commercial parking lot in Bay Shore before another jet ski was stolen in East Islip days later, prosecutors allege. <\/p>\n

Authorities say the alleged thefts weren\u2019t smash-and-grab jobs \u2014 but rather calculated tow-and-go operations where entire trailers were hooked up and removed in minutes, allowing the pair to clear thousands of dollars\u2019 worth of property without ever stepping foot inside a home.<\/p>\n

The crime spree finally came to a halt on Jan. 16, after Nassau County<\/a> police arrested the pair for similar watercraft thefts on their side of the border.<\/p>\n

Suffolk police then linked Genao, of Brooklyn, and Rodriguez, of Queens, to the South Shore<\/a> jobs.<\/p>\n

Both men were charged with five counts of theft of a personal watercraft and have since been arraigned and released, as the charges are considered non-bail eligible under state law.<\/p>\n
