{"id":150899,"date":"2026-03-03T13:06:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T13:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/150899\/"},"modified":"2026-03-03T13:06:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T13:06:09","slug":"nyc-weather-today-see-forecast-for-tuesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/150899\/","title":{"rendered":"NYC weather today: See forecast for Tuesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/gz12zj1i3iq7ee8s.jpg\" alt=\"Rain, snow, ice possible for much of the week: See forecast\" class=\"sr-only\" data-v-4292be72=\"\"\/>    <\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">NEW YORK &#8211; Rain and a messy wintry mix are causing delays and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5ny.com\/news\/school-closings-delays-tuesday-march-3\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">some school closings<\/a> across parts of the Tri-State area Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"WNYW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">What we know:<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">The soggy stretch of weather is expected to continue for much of the week, according to FOX 5 NY meteorologist Mike Woods.<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">&#8220;Sun\u2019s out, guns out \u2014 but not today,&#8221; Woods said, describing the gray skies hanging over the city this morning.<\/p>\n<p> Winter weather advisory <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/video-2026-03-03t072244.229.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" data-v-97c6a84c=\"\"\/>  <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"WNYW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">Dig deeper:<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of the Tri-State area starting at 10 a.m., though New York City, Long Island and other coastal areas are not included. Areas north and west of the city could see minor snow and ice accumulations through the evening, enough to create slick conditions and impact the commute.<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">In the city, temperatures hovered around freezing early Tuesday, with 32 degrees in Central Park. (Photo by Spencer Platt\/Getty Images) <\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">Woods said a rain-snow mix will move into the region by mid-morning, arriving from Pennsylvania and pushing through Trenton before tracking toward the city.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">The precipitation may begin as wet snowflakes or a mix, but warmer air moving in from the southeast will flip most locations over to plain rain by the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p> Rain and snow expected for Tuesday evening <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ny\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/rain-snow-ice-possible-for-much-of-the-week-see-forecast.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"auto\" data-v-97c6a84c=\"\"\/>  <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"WNYW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">7-day Forecast:<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">Futurecast models show steadier rain developing later in the day, with pockets of moderate to at times heavy showers possible this evening and into tonight.<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">Snowfall totals are expected to remain light, with a coating to a half-inch possible north and west of the city. A few spots could see up to an inch of snow and minor ice accumulation, but metro areas are expected to see mainly rain.<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">Rainfall totals will likely range from about a third of an inch to two-thirds of an inch, though those numbers could fluctuate slightly.<\/p>\n<p> 50 degrees on Wednesday <\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">Conditions begin to dry out early Wednesday as drier air pushes in. The day will turn partly to mostly cloudy, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s.<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">But the break won\u2019t last long.<\/p>\n<p> Clouds return Thursday, Friday <\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">More clouds and showers return Thursday, with additional rain expected Friday. &#8220;We\u2019re kind of in a stretch now for the next four days that we\u2019re going to see some scattered showers coming through from time to time,&#8221; Woods said.<\/p>\n<p data-v-1b07e41a=\"\">The weekend, however, looks drier \u2014 and much warmer.
